On the road again …
A large part of the Gratton Lab recently made a trip across the border to Minneapolis for this year’s annual Entomological Society of America meeting.
It was a great time to catch up with old friends, alums and to hear great talks as well. Jeremy Hemberger and Kaitlin Stack-Whitney were in the student competition and got runner’s up for their excellent presentations! Nice work! As you saw from the earlier post, Kiley’s post gathered ESA attention and was featured on entomologytoday.org. In addition, Emad Sadeghi presented a nice poster as part of the undergraduate competition, and Federica Lacasella had a poster and a talk! Other stalwarts included Brian Spiesman and Tania Kim, but giving talks in invited symposia. Recent alum Emma Pelton talked in a special session on spotted wing drosophila.
Left to right are: Emad, Erica Nystrom-Santa Cruz (alum), Federica Lacasella (post-doc), Brandon Barton (former UW post-doc now at Miss State), Jamin Dreyer (alum), Rachel Mallinger (alum), David Hoekman (alum), and David’s two students from SNU.
